STEM ROV Club 2019-20 Kickoff Event! Our season begins on Thursday, October, 3rd (returning members meeting September 26th). Join us for an informational meeting at 6pm at the UWSP - Wausau Fieldhouse classroom followed by new member sign up and an opportunity to pilot a remotely operated vehicle in the UW Pool until 7:30pm! Interested students in grades 6-12 should come with their responsible adult. Light refreshments will be served. See below for more details. Next Meeting - See Calendar Below STEM ROV Club of Central WI is for middle school and high school students interested in science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) and business related to STEM. The club seeks students who are self-motivated and have a desire to work with a diverse team of students toward a common goal. Meetings will give club members opportunities to develop skills such as engineering, scientific inquiry, design, teamwork, soldering, budgeting, presentation, and marketing. Students also have the option to compete on a Ranger class team in the WI MATE ROV competition. Please visit www.marinetech.org for more information on the ROV competition. Here is the same mission from the on-board video camera. Club Membership Students in grades 6 -12 are welcome to visit a club meeting with a parent/guardian present. The club seeks students who are self-motivated and have a desire to work with a team toward a common goal. Applications for new members will be accepted on a first come - first served basis. Membership will be limited based on the ratio of students to mentors available. Students, please encourage responsible and interested adults to attend, too! Student membership is $45 and mentor membership is $20. A limited number of scholarships will be available. Applicants must print and complete the application and waiver below. Mentors must also participate in a Criminal Background Check. Registration is online through UWSP-Wausau continuing ed.
