The Science of Sports at College for Kids - UWMC - Wausau 
  • Come experience sports from a scientific perspective as we study topics as diverse as how muscles work to the design of a bicycle helmet.  Science experiments and sports play each day! Gymnastics, soccer, racquet sports, baseball, football,and more will be a part of this truly cross-curricular class!
Two sessions for students finishing grades 2-5.  8 - 9:45am June 18-22 or June 25-29.

Underwater Robotics Workshops & Expedition on Washington Island

Themes for The Science of Art - June 12-15
  • Monday -  Why Art?  Ancient Art & Nature; 
  • Tuesday - Vision, Light, & Perception; 
  • Wednesday - Colors of Light & Pigment; 
  • Thursday - Science modeling & art in motion. 
Art projects will include: fiber weaving, painting, drawing, chalk making, animation
Science topics & experiments will include: chemistry, anatomy of the eye, illusions, science modeling, physics, 


 It is going to be so much fun creating and learning!

The Science of Music - August 14-17
Each day will be filled with the wonders of music from a scientific perspective.  Campers will enjoy exploring music by creating sounds, building simple instruments and models, performing controlled experiments, making music, and more.  Come join the fun!

Summer 2016 - The Science of Sports (K-6) & Underwater Robotics (grades 4-6)
We are proud to partner with UWMC as part of College For Kids 2016!  

NOTE:  Underwater Robotics is FULL. There is room in The Science of Sports for the same age group.

This summer's programs will be June 13-17: The Science of Sports for K-1 & grades 2-3 in the first morning session, and The Science of Sports grades 4-6 in the second morning session, and also Underwater Robotics for grades 4-6 in the second morning session.  For course descriptions please see the full College for Kids brochure

We are proud to partner with the Wausau Conservatory of Music for day camp!  

The Science of Music is a week-long summer science experience for Central Wisconsin students who are entering 1st - 3rd (8 - 11am) & 4th - 6th grades (12:30-3:30)

Each day will be filled with the wonders of music from a scientific perspective.  Campers will enjoy exploring music by creating sounds, building simple instruments and models, performing controlled experiments, making music, and more.  Come join the fun!

2014 The Science of Art!

….a week-long summer science experience for Central Wisconsin students who have completed Kindergarten to those entering 6th grade. The Science of Art will provide participants with activities and experiments ranging from optical illusions to use of natural dyes and materials in art. We invite your budding scientist to join us as we explore eye anatomy, light, color, and fiber art, among other visual arts and science during our week of active inquiry-based science. Camp will be held Monday, June 16th through Friday, June 20th at Newman Catholic Early Childhood Center at St. Michael's Parish.
