Dear Friends, Merry Christmas!
It is with heartfelt thankfulness that I write to you this holiday season. Snapshot Science has had a wonderful first full year, with many successes thanks to the support of you and yours. Here are a few of the 2011 highlights:
v Completion of the first ever Current Science Seminar for High School Students v Contract with Newman Catholic Schools to use Science Lab and equipment v Collaborated with Peter Barbella Mathematics to meet families from around the state at the Wisconsin Parent’s Association Annual Home Educators conference in May v Science Lab Open House at Newman Catholic High School in May v Second Current Science Seminar group started in October v First LEGO Series class for grades 5-7 held in October in the NCHS Science Lab v Taught science lessons to students ages 4-14 of the Wausau Area Catholic Homeschool Coop v First Snapshot Science Club of 20 students—an after school science enrichment program for K-5 students at Newman Catholic Elementary School – St. Anne in November and December v Tutored several individual students in chemistry, writing, and ACT Science Test Prep
Plans for Spring 2012… Ø Lego Series – Renewable Energy Labs for grades 5-7 (1 or 2 sections in Wausau; 1 section on Washington Island) Ø Teach students of the Wausau Area Catholic Homeschool coop (WACH) Ø Snapshot Science Club at NCES – St. Mark Ø ACT Science Workshop
And Beyond… Ø Continue to develop lab science opportunities for families that homeschool, local homeschool cooperatives, and Bridges to Learn in Merrill Ø Aquatic Sciences Summer Camp for High School Students Ø Snapshot Science Club for several more schools and other groups Ø Develop programming for Virtual School students
