Alien Species Invade the Library!  

In collaboration with Robert W. Monk Gardens and Marathon County Public Library, Snapshot

Science will be presenting a program for participants grades K-6 about Invasive Species.  The date has been set for Saturday, April 18at the MCPL Wausau from 10:30 AM until Noon.

 

During this new event, the life-history and biology of the buckthorn species will be discussed.  Activities will

include a brief introduction and story, and a hike to Baker-Stewart Island to view live buckthorn invading Wisconsin.  Then participants will complete a science experiment involving planted vegetable seeds and buckthorn.  Follow-up activities will be presented four weeks later on Saturday, May 16th  from 10:30 AM until Noon at Robert W. Monk Gardens.
